Checkmarx Joins Anthropic’s Project Glasswing

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Sept. 03, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Checkmarx announced today its participation in Anthropic’s Project Glasswing, which gives select security organizations access to Mythos for defensive cybersecurity work. As a participant, Checkmarx will use Claude Mythos 5 to strengthen its own vulnerability detection and share what it learns to advance detection and remediation industry-wide. Checkmarx is committed to sharing what it learns with the broader security community.

The pace of software development is outrunning most application security tooling. Independent research points to the scale of the challenge. A recent J.P. Morgan analysis found that roughly 80% of exploitations now occur on or before the day a vulnerability becomes public ("Patchmageddon," Eye on the Market, July 2026). Frontier AI models are now capable of surfacing categories of risk that have sat latent in code bases for years, ahead of conventional scanning cycles. Checkmarx's work in Project Glasswing aims to close that gap: finding and remediating this class of risk ahead of exploitation and sharing what that takes with the industry.

"We've watched frontier models surface risk that's gone undetected for years, faster than most organizations can keep up. Project Glasswing is one part of how we're working to close that gap and a chance to share what we learn so the rest of the industry can close it too," said Sandeep Johri, CEO of Checkmarx. “We’re proud to bring our expertise to the effort and to put frontier AI to work defending the software the world runs on.”

For two decades, Checkmarx has led the industry in securing the code that powers today’s business through applications for the world’s largest enterprises. With a dedicated research arm, Checkmarx Zero, the company has prioritized threat intelligence paired with product innovation to advance the industry and ultimately to reduce cybersecurity risk.

Consistent with Project Glasswing’s intent, Checkmarx is focused on securing its own code and systems. As the engagement progresses, Checkmarx will share findings and best practices on how AI is reshaping application security workflows, triage, and disclosure. Checkmarx will publish this contribution for the benefit of the broader security community.
